Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd. ("Sony Life"), a wholly owned life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings Inc., offered a financial donation to Special Olympics Nippon (Japan), a public-interest incorporated foundation, on February 12, 2019.
Sony Life employees have participated in social contribution activities as part of its corporate endeavors. Sony Life has supported Special Olympics Nippon to help people with intellectual disabilities gain autonomy and more broadly participate in society through sports, and contribute to the formation of a diversity-friendly society.
In the fiscal year ending March 31, 2019, Sony Life donated ¥5 million for this purpose. At the Special Olympics Nippon National Summer Games AICHI in 2018, approximately 600 employees from Sony Life participated as a volunteer staff. Furthermore, Sony Life's employees plan to participate in the upcoming Special Olympics Nippon National Winter Games HOKKAIDO as a volunteer staff in February 2020.
