Sony Bank Announces Expansion of Mortgage Loan Accessibility for Customers in Same-Sex Partnerships

Sony Bank Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings Inc. ("SFH"), announces today that, in conjunction with increased societal awareness of individuals who identify as LGBT* and the related initiatives of local municipalities in recent years, same-sex couples who meet certain criteria will now be eligible for family pair repayment and collateral provider on mortgage loans as of Monday, April 2, 2018.

The required documentations are as follows (either 1 or 2).
1. Copies of (a) and (b)
(a) An original or certified copies of notarized voluntary guardianship contract and a notarized letter of agreement
(b) A Certificate of Registered Matters (tōkijikō shōmeisho) pertaining to the voluntary guardianship contract.
2. Certificate of partnership issued by Shibuya ward in Tokyo

Sony Bank will continue to place importance on diversity and expand its products and services to meet the diverse financial needs of its customers.
