Sony Bank Starts the Special Charity Program for the Summer 2011 Bonus Season

Sony Bank Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced the start of the special charity programs for the summer 2011 with the aim of supporting reconstruction of the disaster-stricken area affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, starting from June 6, 2011. The major programs are as follows.

  1. Special Bonus Season Interest Rates on Yen Time Deposits and Thrift Saving Deposits
    Sony Bank will offer special interest rates on yen time deposits (6-month and 1-year) and thrift saving deposits (1-year) initiated between June 6, 2011 and August 31, 2011.
    Furthermore, Sony Bank will donate an equivalent amount of 0.01% of the total amount of time deposits received from customers during the above period, through the Japan Red Cross for the Great East Japan Earthquake relief aid.
  2. A ¥500-Cash Back to Customers Who Transfer Money from Other Financial Institutions
    Sony Bank will cash back ¥500 to all customers who transfer ¥1 million or more at a time from other financial institutions to Sony Bank's yen ordinary deposit account once during the above period. Moreover, Sony Bank will donate ¥100 for every ¥500 cash back to customers, through the Japan Red Cross.
