Sony Bank Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced that it will offer margin trading (standardized margin transactions) through the Financial Products Intermediary Services of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Sony Bank Securities Inc., from August 24, 2009.
This new offering adds margin trading transactions, which enable customers to deal from short positions, to Sony Bank Securities' product lineup, which currently includes Japanese stocks, exchange traded funds (ETFs) and real estate investment trusts (REITs), and expands its product coverage for investing in marketable securities. After setting up Sony Bank ordinary yen deposit and Sony Bank Securities investment accounts, customers can fill out a margin account application by logging into the Sony Bank service website.
Sony Bank and Sony Bank Securities will continue to respond to the wide range of individual customer asset management needs by strengthening its MONEYKit securities service, "the money toolbox."
