Sony Life to Bear Some of the Costs Incurred to Acquire Medical Certificates

Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced that it will begin paying part of the costs that customers incur to acquire medical certificates. In the event that a decision is made on or after October 1, 2008, not to pay requested insurance claim or benefit payments, Sony Life will pay customers ¥5,250 to offset the cost of acquiring each medical certificate in the format Sony Life has prescribed. Going forward, Sony Life will continue striving to raise its level of service to customers.
