Sony Life's Life Planning Course Offered at 100 Schools to Date

Sony Life Insurance Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced that the total number of schools at which it has conducted the "Life Planning Course", a learning program for school students offered by Sony Life since 2005, has surpassed 100. During these courses, Sony Life's Lifeplanner* sales employees take on the role of instructor, emphasizing to students the importance of having dreams for the future.
Sony Life will continue offering the Life Planning Course as one of its social contribution initiatives.
1. Life Planning Course Outline
Objective
To help students understand the importance of leading planned lives and realizing their dreams through life planning, which maps out students' hopes and dreams for the future.
Program
Sony Life's Lifeplanner sales employees, who are expert at life planning, instruct and support students through the life-planning process. The simulation begins by creating a virtual family. Lifeplanner sales employees help students to imagine such life stages as childbirth, planning for education, buying a house and other future events that feature among their goals and dreams.
Next, the course takes on an economic focus, looking at the financial resources that are needed to achieve the simulated life plan. Lifeplanner sales employees offer advice, using Sony Life's proprietary software (LiPSS) for simulations. Lifeplanner sales employees examine their plans from an economic viewpoint, taking into account household income and expenditures, and provide consulting. Through this advice, students learn the importance of life planning and gain a better understanding of what is needed to achieve their dreams and goals.
