On July 23, 2009, Sony Life Insurance Co.("Sony Life"), Ltd., a wholly owned life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, concluded a memorandum of a business tie-up agreement with specified nonprofit organization Yuigon Sozoku Legal Network ("Yuigon Sozoku Legal Network") on legal consultation related to last will and testament, as well as inheritance.
This business tie-up will enables Sony Life to improve its services for its customers by expanding its services to include "Legal Consultation with Lawyers", in addition to the "Inheritance and Business Succession Solution Services utilizing life insurance based on life planning" already implemented by Sony Life's Lifeplanner* sales employees.
At present, inheritance-related services (testamentary trusts) generally target high net worth customers even though the market scale is expected to grow with the graying of society.
Furthermore, in cases where the division of an estate is assumed to be problematic, issues may remain with regard to legal support to resolve fundamental disputes. Regardless of income, Sony Life believes that inheritance problems can occur among anyone, and it is ideal that Sony Life can offer its inheritance-related services with the highest respect for the intentions of the testator to promote a smooth succession to the next generation.
Sony Life has entered a tie-up with Yuigon Sozoku Legal Network, which offers expert legal support throughout Japan, as part of its aim of improving its inheritance-related services by enhancing the focus on resolving fundamental issues. Through complementary inheritance-related services and a cooperative structure, this tie-up provides services that other insurance providers cannot offer.
With the objective of contributing to the promotion of social welfare, Yuigon Sozoku Legal Network offers the following services.
