Sony Assurance Inc., a wholly-owned non-life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, announced today that the number of its automobile insurance policies in force surpassed one million as of December 31, 2008.
Sony Assurance has offered automobile insurance directly via the Internet and by telephone since the autumn of 1999, when the company started operations. In the nine years and three months since the commencement of this offering, it has achieved one million policies in force.
Sony Assurance assumes that increasing the number of policies steadily despite the recent difficult environment was the result of customer appreciation of Sony Assurance's reasonable and satisfactory pricing, its highly homogenous quality services, and its efforts to deliver each service to its customers in an easy-to-understand way.
Going forward, Sony Assurance will keep striving to enhance its various offerings including accident solution services, to improve its quality and to develop products that customers will find valuable. To this end, Sony Assurance aims to keep growing through the support of its customers.
