Sony Assurance Opens Its Sapporo Claims Service Center for Receiving Accident Reports

Sony Assurance Inc., a wholly-owned non-life insurance subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced that it will open its second Claims Service Center for Receiving Accident Reports in Sapporo, Hokkaido, on July 1, 2008.

As part of its provision of accident resolution services for automobile insurance, the initial Claims Service Center for Receiving Accident Reports in Tokyo has been receiving reports 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, as well as providing "On the Day Safe 365" service. Starting July 1, 2008, these services will be provided through centers in Tokyo and Sapporo.

The expansion of the Claims Service Center for Receiving Accident Reports is aimed at responding flexibly to the increased number of policies in force and at strengthening the measures against large-scale disaster occurrence risks. Sony Assurance selected Sapporo for its high-quality human resources and expects efficient operations. Sapporo is also the location of one of Sony Assurance's call centers.

In preparation for the claims service center's official opening in Sapporo, Sony Assurance has been recruiting and training staff members in order to make prompt and high-quality responses to the first reports from customers, who are expected to be anxious after an accident. Going forward, Sony Assurance plans to expand the new Sapporo claims service center, including an increase of staff, in line with the rising number of policies in force.

As indicated by the company's slogan, "Feel the Difference—a difference that will change insurance," Sony Assurance aims to deliver services that are distinctive—offering customers a difference that could only come from the Company. Sony Assurance will continue working to provide fulfilled accident resolution services that meet the expectations of its customers.
