Sony Bank Inc., an 88.0%-owned subsidiary of Sony Financial Holdings, today announced that starting from March 26, 2007, it will commence a new service that enables customers to charge funds directly from Sony Bank accounts to "Osaifu-Keitai™" (FOMA™ type) mobile phones that employ the "Edy" prepaid e-money service.
With this launch, customers using FOMA-type Osaifu-Keitai handsets with NTT DoCoMo's i-mode™ service and registered for Sony Bank's mobile banking service can enjoy the convenience of charging directly from their yen ordinary deposit accounts at Sony Bank, essentially 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Employing the concept of "a bank you bring out with you" Sony Bank will continue enhancing the convenience of its accounts by expanding its mobile banking functionality and service offerings.
